Village Green Flapjack


12oz porridge oats

Whole pack of salted butter

6oz Fairtrade demerera sugar

3oz golden syrup

A handful of your favourite fruit and seeds. We love cranberries, pumpkin, sesame and sunflower seeds - but the world is your oyster!


Pop the butter, sugar and golden syrup in a pan and melt together over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.

If adding dried fruit it's nice to add this half way through the melting process as it plumps them up nicely!

In a seperate bowl weigh out the oats and add the melted buttery sugar mix and stir well.

Pop into a lined(with baking parchment, otherwise you'll be eating paper with your flapjack) 10" square tin and bake at around 150C for 30-40 minutes until golden brown. Times will vary depending on your oven. Cool & enjoy. By the way, flapjack freezes well.
