Hooray... the sunshine is out for the Bank Holiday! We are open everyday this week to help you enjoy our Eyam Wakes Week celebrations.
It's a fun packed week ahead so come and enjoy some local traditions and treat yourself to a lovely cup of fair-trade coffee, take a look at our home-made cakes or just sit and enjoy the festivities with a delicious ice cream... Here are some of our highlights to look out for this week:
Monday 28th August : If baking, crafts and home grown delights are your thing then the village show is a must see - 11am onwards in the Mechanics (opposite the church). Prize giving is at 7pm.
Tuesday 29th August : Feeling sporty?! there is a fell race from the sports field (Hawkhill road) at 6.30pm. There is also a beetle drive at the Mechanics at 7pm.
Wednesday 30th August : Fun for all the family at the annual children's fun & games on the cricket field (hawkbill road) followed by a junior fell race.
Thursday 31st August: Get those brains working for the popular quiz night at the mechanics at 8pm (booking is essential - contact Diana on 01433 630349)
Friday 1st September: Bingo at the mechanics - 7pm
Saturday 2nd September: Carnival day! An action packed day with lots of fun for everyone...
10.30am onwards - Sheep roast and Eyam real ale at the stocks
1pm - Carnival judging
2.45pm - Carnival parade commences starting right outside the cafe
Sunday 3rd September: 1pm - Rodger Ridgeway memorial cricket match (Hawkhill road) including a barbecue and raffle - all welcome!
