A very, very warm welcome back from everyone at VG to all of you out there in the ether. It’s so good to be spreading the news that we re-open on Thursday 15th April and that we are finally returning to normal opening hours (Thursday - Monday 9.15-4.15) and and that everyone from our team will be back.
Our outside tables will be available to book - we have tables of 3 and up to 6. No more cardboard outside - real crockery, table service and hopefully a warm late Spring and Summer to make outside dining a lovely experience. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a table even before we open - for breakfast, lunch or just coffee and cake.
We expect tables to get booked up quickly so if you have a special occasion coming up and want to book for a special afternoon tea just get in touch.
We also have a wonderful new addition to our team - John Morgan is flying the flag for Wales and joins us as a very experienced chef. He loves to chat about food and has some great ideas to freshen up our menu. Don’t worry - your favourites will stay but don’t we all just need a treat and a break from home-cooking?
We have also been busy re-stocking with gorgeous new gifts - some beautiful books including some for children, jigsaws, a wider range of St Eval candles, hand-crafted bath bombs, wildflower seeds amongst many others.
If you haven’t yet read Piranesi by Susanna Clarke we are incredibly lucky to have signed copies for sale here in the cafe. It’s a gorgeous read and is currently longlisted for the 2021 Women’s Prize for Fiction. We would highly recommend.
Needless to say, we really can’t wait to reconnect with old friends and new - we have missed you, as well as each other. Your support over the past year has been amazing and I hope we can make the new normal lovely again for all of you.
